Representing You at the Hearing

In Washington, a person who alleges domestic violence can seek an order for temporary relief from abuse. This is a restraining order that makes it a crime for the alleged abuser to approach the alleged victim or that person's home. The temporary order, once issued, is usually effective for several weeks.

Before the temporary order expires, the alleged victim can seek a final protection order. This order can be effective for a year or more; most commonly, it is made effective for one year and can then be renewed if needed.

A protection order hearing is an extremely serious matter. Unique legal standards apply, and you need an attorney who understands how to make sure your side of the story is told.

I can represent people making accusations of domestic violence and people responding to those allegations. In each case, I vigorously represent my client and his or her interests.

If you are suffering from domestic abuse, or if you are at risk of being kicked out of your home because of accusations that have been made against you, contact me to get an experienced Lynnwood domestic violence lawyer on your side.
